We recognize the importance of a resident, worshipping community that will "tend the sanctuary" by participating in the work and spiritual life of the Center and by giving it a human face and heartbeat. In addition, we anticipate that a larger, non-residential community of like-minded individuals and groups will form around our project and bring support, fresh ideas, and diversity. Our intention is to embrace and integrate that larger community into the whole, making us a "strong center with soft edges": a group that is secure in its own identity, but welcoming to outside influences.
